Al Farooq Omar bin Al Khattab Mosque and Center (AFMC) held a religious event for the Prophet’s Birthday in Jumeirah under the title “And you are of a great moral character”. The event was attended by Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, Aidarous Hassan Al Issai, Mohammad Abdallah Al Haj, Mohammad Alyamahi, and several students from the Holy Quran institutes, universities, and schools in the Emirate of Dubai.
At the outset, Abdul Salam Al Marzooqi, Director General, AFMC, welcomed the audience and extended his sincere wishes to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, and to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, to the members of the Federal Supreme Council, the rulers of the Emirates, and to the whole world.
Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Abdul Aziz El Haddad, Grand Mufti and Director of the Ifta Division of the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai, spoke about the blessings of the Prophet’s Birthday: “Guidance was born, so the creatures are shining, the mouth of time is smiling, the soul is praising, and angels are around Him announcing it to the spiritual and mundane worlds.”
“In the month of the Prophet’s birth, Muslims feel the grace and blessings, as heavy rain fell on the day of His birth. This was an indication that His birth was a blessing for all people, as explained by God the Almighty,” added Abdul Aziz El Haddad. “God has praised His Prophet for the great morals: ‘And you are of a great moral character’. This was evident in His relation and communication with others. When umm al-Mu’minin Aisha was asked: ‘what was the character of the Prophet, may Allah bless Him and grant Him peace, like?’ she said: ‘His character was the Quran’. This means that He abided by the Quran’s morals and principles, and that is because the Quran was revealed for people to follow its guidance. And the Prophet was the first to act upon it and comply with its rules.”
He concluded: “This nation has the right to be proud of this great Prophet and to follow His words and actions, for He is our example. No one can approach God without taking the path of the Messenger of God. This is an event to be commemorated and celebrated for it embodies the values of peace, tolerance, and coexistence.”
Sheikh Dr. Fares El Mustafa, religious and cultural adviser at AFMC, stressed the high morals and principles of the Prophet who exemplifies good character and ethics. The Prophet was sent to perfect good character. There were good morals in the Jahiliya era, and the Prophet came to perfect them, by fixing the wrong, praising the virtuous and calling for the right path, for the Prophet, may Allah bless Him and grant Him peace, said: “I was sent to perfect the good character.”
The Dubai Media Incorporated has filmed the lecture that will be shown on Saturday October 8, 2022, on Dubai channel as part of the programs celebrating the Prophet’s Birthday.
The ceremony included chanting and supplications recited by the students at the Holy Quran Institutes in Dubai. At the end of the lecture, the lecturers answered all the questions and inquiries from the students.
